Where? : Callelongue 13008 Marseille

This is the end of the coastal road towards the Calanques along which you might discover some vestiges of the Telescaphe, the cable submarine built in the late 60s. Callellongue has long since lost its vocation of a fishing port. It became the starting point for hiking towards the Calanques, the first of them is only 45 minutes away. On a trail overlooking the sea you will get an exceptional panorama of the islands of the Riou archipelago. The small port has its boats hoisted on the sides of rocks below the fishermen’s cabins. The narrow streets as well as the famous restaurant la Grotte, in which each inhabitant has memories of a happy family lunch, will be worth it. But it is in the Calanque of Marseilleveyre that you’ll truly have a taste of paradise; enjoying a simple grilled chop in the “Cantine du Belge” overlooking the turquoise water.
