There\u2019s a saying that art is one of the few m\u00e9tiers you never leave. So when Patrick Raynaud, artist, filmmaker, professor, and director of numerous fine art schools attempted to retire, he opened an art gallery, Sept Clous, instead. Which happens to be in his home, a loft insolite with an enormous plant-filled terrace, an oasis above the urban grit of the 3ieme below. <\/p>\n
Wonderfully down-to-earth, Raynaud has graduated from artist godfather to volunteer galerist, generously opening his home and his address book of artist friends, former colleagues and students for convivial openings one Sunday each month. By sharing artists at Sept Clous that he knows and also, most importantly, likes, Raynaud gives us an intimate way of engaging with art\u2014without pretention in a put-your-feet-up kind of way. Which you can literally do in his playful Magis Spun chairs. <\/p>\n
One of the reasons Raynaud fell for Marseille is the possibility of discovery at every corner.
