Since settling in Marseille in 2018, Belgian artist Nathalie Dewez often likens herself to the local octopus for her versatile creativity. Trained as an interior architect at the \u00c9cole de la Cambre in Brussels, she quickly made a name for herself in object design, particularly in lighting, as well as in teaching and consultancy. Following her tenure at the Fine Arts School of Marseille, she contributed to curating the Design section of the Art-O-Rama exhibition, aided in launching the Design Art Prize for Sess\u00f9n, and continued designing furniture and lighting for shops, hotels, and public spaces. As discreet as she is diligent, Nathalie hopes to establish a collaborative design workshop in the future. We caught up with her at her home, on the beautiful terrace of her pavilion in the Timone neighborhood. Despite being surrounded by recent real estate developments, her home stands as a pocket of aesthetic resistance in the midst of an ungracious urban landscape. Here, she hosts workshops and dinner gatherings where creatives and talents of all kinds come together.<\/strong><\/p>\n
